GOPHR

I am the project manager for my two-semester senior design capstone project.

The GOPHR will be designed to deliver supplies to patients’ rooms. It will start from a home base within the hospital. This base is where the robot will return to charge its battery. It is also where the nurses can load items into the lockbox. To access the lockbox, the nurse will have to scan their badge using the RFID scanner. The reason why they have to scan their badge is for security purposes as well as access to the GOPHR’s user interface. The nurse can then input the patient’s room number as well as what is being delivered into the robot. Once the command has been placed, the GOPHR will deliver the contents to the specified room. It will do this with the usage of lidar, computer vision, and encoders. It will be able to avoid obstacles along its path. Once it arrives at its destination, another nurse will be able to access the contents once they scan their badge. The trip and its details will be logged.
